A weekend in San Francisco
Let’s go to San Francisco!
If you are during the weekend in the Bay Area, some ideas to spend a nice time there. And if you are already living there, please, let us know your best tips 🙂
Crissy Field
Crissy Field is now a restored salt marsh and recreation area, with a 4.3-mile waterfront promenade that wanders through grassy fields, past sheltered beaches, windsurfers and picnic areas, all the way to Fort Point and the Golden Gate Bridge. Recommendation: Make a pit stop at the Warming Hut for organic soups, sandwiches, and only-in-San-Francisco books, games and souvenirs. Along the way, there are also kid-friendly attractions such as the House of Air trampoline park, Planet Granite climbing gym, and La Petite Balleen swim school.
Mission Dolores Park
If you just move to San Francisco (or you want to) Dolores Park is a rite of passage for San Francisco newcomers. This amazing park is nearly 15 acres border by Palm trees. It was refurbish during 2015 and 2016 so now is newly pristine. During this refurbishment it was added a new bathroom, picnic areas and a bike polo court. On the north side of the park, you’ll find a soccer field, tennis courts and a basketball court, while the south side touts two off-leash dog play areas and a playground. But the real draw is the lawn between, where up to 10,000 people in various states of undress sunbathe, read, drink, smoke and socialize on warm weekend day.
The Brick and Mortar
The 250-capacity venue, which opened in 2011 in the former Coda jazz club space, has quickly become one of the city’s most vital venues for an eclectic array of live music. The Brick and Mortar is an intimate yet lively spot where you can take in a New Orleans–style brass band, an emerging indie rock act or a Bay Area–style street rapper, depending on the night. During the day, the place hosts excellent Vietnamese pop-up Rice Paper Scissors for weekday lunch and weekend brunch.
